Layout: Miles To Go Before I Sleep

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I'm here to share my new Layout which I made to enter More Than Words Challenge.
For word inspiration Outdoors I used the picture of the Woods and for Woodgrain I used the Wooden textured BG paper and also used some wooden colored corrugated paper. I have used few words from one of my Favorite Poems
" The Woods are lovely, dark and deep...
             But I have promises to keep;
Miles to go before I Sleep...
Miles to go before I sleep."

For the Background I used a Woody Pattern paper and added few layers of different pattern paper on the lower and side edges. Also I layered some corrugated sheet for some extra wooden look. Then I brushed clear gesso and texture paste with a palette knife. Sprayed some Distress spray and distress inks. All the edges and photomat were also Distressed.
Added some chipboard, distressed gauze, moss and fussy cut some leaf patterns and butterflies to add some color. Finally added the sentiment.

Some more close ups..

Hello Friends,

We are celebrating Christmas at Scrapping4fun challenges  where the theme is "Christmas" for challenge # 104. I created this Pop up Card or you can call it Card in a box.

I have used "Santa Sleepy Head" Digi Stamp from Aliciabel who is also the sponsor for the challenge.

I just love this cute Little Sleepy Santa Digi...
I colored the stamp using Faber Castell color pencils and cut that out and attached to the card.I decorated the card using some 3d Christmas stickers and rhinestones.
At the back of the card, there is space for sentiment and the card folds like this and fits into any regular envelope.

Mixed Media Wooden Wall Art for Rainbow Craftykari

Hello Crafty Folks,
A very good morning to all of you.

I'm back with a Picture Tutorial for Mixed media Wooden Piece. Here I have explained how I have made this piece totally out of scrap. Except for some basic Mixed Media supplies you don't need any branded embellishments to make this kind of a project.

Here is what I made....

So let's Start...

Step 1:

I had this wooden plank which is about 2.5 feet in length. You can take any base be it wooden or canvas or MDF, Procedure will be the same. I used some masking tape on corners and sides to fill in the uneven parts. Also attached a hook at the back so that I can hang it on my wall.

Step 2:

I gave a coat of white gesso on it.

Step3:

Here you can see the things I have used on the base to create textures. Some negative of chippies, Gauze cloth, Twine, some nails, buttons, tissue paper, pista shells, broken pencils, tags, broken toys etc.

I cut and glued the negative chippies on the base as shown in the picture below and also tied some twine on desired spaces.

Step 4:

Then I arranged some gauze around the chippies and adhered some corrugated sheet here and thera and also attached lace at few places.

Step 5:

Then I arranged made small coils out of tissue papers and glued on to it, some chipboards, metal charms, tags, broken pencils and other embellishments using 3d matte gel.

Here are some close ups of the arrangements in case you are interested.

Step 6:

Then I gave a coat of white gesso on it, after all things dried up. Also used a light coat of Decoart crackle texture paste here and there.

As you can see I arranged some broken jewelry pieces on it to add on more textures and finally added a butterfly chipboard to give some height.

Step 7:

Then I started coloring this after it is fully dried. Firstly I gave a coat of Chalk paint Sailing sky and Mint green Patina Paste. Then I started dry brushing with Rust and Brass Patina paste mixed together. Also rubbed blue patina paste here and there for the effect. And my rustic wall art is ready.
